Fusing Two Things

Every time I hit my front teeth

On something like my water glass

I am reminded of you

And how I struck my teeth against

Your teeth in the beginning of our first kiss

And how it did not matter because

Well, because we were kissing

Finally

We had come together

My clumsiness did not matter

Because we had found each other

After all these years

And besides, it was the beautiful

And perfect pain of fusing two things
