“Pond Under Mist,” 8 × 8 inches, oil on canvas panel, Julie Webb 2025

A landscape oil painting that Julie Webb painted en plein air, inspired by her forthcoming album, “Steadfast, How You Love Me.”

Signed and framed in a gold plein air style frame. Framing is done by Julie using professional archival materials and traditional techniques.

Artist’s Statement

From the taillight of her Prius, Julie Webb creates romantic, abstract landscape oil paintings, painted alla prima and en plein air. Her paintings tell her story of falling in love for the first time, and of falling into the arms of Nature, wherein she embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

Over the summer and fall of 2025, Webb wrote an album of love songs about her journey, entitled “Steadfast, How You Love Me.” As the leaves began to turn, she was compelled to continue professing her love and to deepen her journey visually by painting the beauty that surrounded her. The paintings sprung from her songwriting naturally, forming a cohesive cross-disciplinary experience. In essence, Webb’s work is inspired by her music, love, and our oneness with Nature.

Like the album, Webb’s Steadfast painting series tells a story of resilience, trust, forgiveness, and innate knowing on the path of soul-recognition love. The Steadfast project as a whole marks Webb’s acceptance of her highest purpose— to tend the flame of her love; and her remembrance that we ARE Nature— any separation is illusory.

“Pond Under Mist” echoes the undying, steadfast love that so profoundly affected her. A love for which we need not look any further than within ourselves— within the arms of Nature. With the upmost softness and sensitivity, muted colors hold space for melancholy, while vibrant glimmers promise divine wish fulfillment. The viewer gazes into the scene from afar, as it reverberates the humming of two lovers ensconced in their private oasis. With her work, Webb aims to honor the love within herself, as it is the same love that connects all things.
